Anuja & Harshal’s marathi-gujarati wedding at Siddharth palace Pune

Anuja is Siddharth’s childhood friend and after she saw his wedding photos she had decided to book me. Once her wedding date was confirmed we spoke over a few calls and emails to discuss over a wedding day. I also met her parents as she was out of India then. It’s a great thing to connect to everyone. Getting to know what the parents think, often getting valuable inputs as well.

Anuja & Harhsal met in US and fell in love. It’s a Marathi girl marrying a Gujarati boy story. Harshal and his family hail from Gandhi nagar. They traveled to Pune to enjoy the Maharashtrian style wedding. The sangeet was beautifully arranged right from Harshal’s entry and it rocked until the end with Harshal’s grandparents dancing and showing how it’s done! Winters weddings are a bliss .. like I’ve already said a million times. Anuja looked absolutely graceful in her Marathi bridal Paithani. They were ready on time and we got plenty of terrific portraits! There was a small Gujarati wedding ritual where Harshal’s side would drape the bride in a Gujarati attire and in no time Anuja was transformed in a pretty Gujarati bride :)

I always request my couple and the family to have fun during the wedding. Enjoy every moment. You’ll never know how the day goes by. I’m there to capture it for you, so just have loads of fun! And that’s exactly what happened. While these were two busy taking phere’s their family decided to bless them with all flowers and petals they could grab! within minutes its was “catch the flower or be hit” game for these two. The Groom’s entry again saw the entire troop dance to Gujrati numbers and the famous folk dance “dandiya”. The venue didn’t allow a “baraat” outdoors but that didn’t stop them one bit. They danced from the entry of the hall till the mandap. Probably the first time it has happened at Siddharth Palace! Ever!

After they met their guests we went to take some more portraits. These two are absolutely wonderful in the front of the camera! Totally natural .. enjoying every moment that they have spent together during the whole day. I can’t stress on how important those 30-40 minutes are that we get in the morning and post the wedding. That’s the only time you’ll get to spend together before wedding rituals begin.

Over the period of time I’ve come to believe and understand that the connection a photographer shares with a couple and their families is equally important as photos that they create. This forges lasting bond. It was delightful two days that I spent with Anuja, Harshal and their families. Made new friends & created beautiful photos together! Thank you so much Anjua & Harshal for all of this!
