Like most of my couples Amruta & Milind & I exchanged a few emails then a few calls & we hit it perfect! They knew exactly what they wanted. From managing their own wedding, handling all the details, logistics of guests who were traveling from various parts of the world for the wedding and post wedding functions wasn’t an easy job. Especially when you stay out of India and the only way to get things done is via email & calls and they did manage it to perfection. And what a splendid way to do it. Amruta comes from Kalyan and Milind has stayed all his life in Belgaum. Until their began studying in US for their post grads which is where they met and fell in love.
Simplicity is what defines them, their personalities & their families. Even the entire wedding. It was an intimate wedding with exactly 100 guests. Milind’s father retired as head of a reputed new paper in the south of India. Yet absolutely humble. The wedding was in Khare Mangal Karyalaya, Sangli. Every bit of the wedding from the venue, food (absolutely delicious!!) had Simplicity and love in all of it. They invited me as friend for the poojas before the wedding day. On the wedding day I was their as a photographer as well. Amruta did her own make-up helped by her mama & mamis. Amruta wanted it to be absolutely simple even without “gajras” but her mamis insisted as it was her wedding and she had put atleast a few :D. While she was getting ready, Milind was helped by his kaka to make sure that the dhoti doesn’t come off. It was a wonderful day filled with happy faces and laughter. After the wedding we all traveled to Belgaum where Milind hails from.
Next day morning we had a pooja at his parents home. His father has a lovely collection of artifacts and a “pakkad” which his mother used to cook from. The pooja was followed by a get together and scrumptious lunch. Evening was a cocktail part for the family and close friends at Sankalp Bhumi. One of finest places I’ve seen yet. Such a serene location! Plus being December the weather was absolutely pleasant.
Amruta and Milind I can’t thank you for putting your trust in me for sharing your most wonderful moments with me. To your wonderful families for inviting me into homes as a family member not just a photographer. I’m truly lucky to have met all of you and made friends for a life time.
