“Life is what happens to us while we are making other plans.”
.. and that’s exactly how it happened. After a fantastic December season of back to back weddings I was thinking of spending the first few days of the new year at home with my family. But call it life, call it fate or extreme luck that I was standing near Taj Vivanta for for Rutika and Gaurav’s wedding. There are times when I meet couples directly on the day of the wedding but we are always in touch via voice calls, facetime, emails and tons of correspondence that happens and helps in getting to know each other. I had not spoken to either of them or any kind of emails. I’d just spoken to Gaurav’s father regarding some basic details about the two days. and that’s about it. I really didn’t know what to expect.
But I was welcomed with warm hearts, big smiles and open arms into their family generously. I felt like an extended part of theirs. It was two days of joy, laughter and a big get together of loved ones who had traveled from all over the world for Rutika & Gaurav’s wedding. The vibe truly gave a relaxed, happy and positive feeling. I must say one one those wedding which was planned and executed to the t! Also one of the massive “jootey bargains” I’ve seen. Not only did Gaurav loose his footwear but even Varun who is Rutika’s brother had to fight to win his chappals, spectacles, belt and socks back :P
A big thank you to Rutika and Gaurav for making it early before the reception. We made some beautiful portraits together. A surprise to everyone was introduction to all the family members on the song “om Shaanti om”. That gave way to an absolutely crazy power packed dance party! Energy levels so high they could beat an army of Duracell bunnies anytime! I really couldn’t have asked for a better start to the year!
Rutika and Gaurav you two are incredibly wonderful people whom I’ve had the opportunity to meet, getting to know a little about your story and to be there as you two got married. I can’t wait to meet the three of you! A huge thank you to both of you :D
