If you are born in the 80’s you’ll remember the song “Saat samundar paar”. That’s exactly the song Kim & Hemant picked up for their Sangeet performance. And it’s true in a way. Kim & her family traveled all the way from Scotalnd, South Africa, America and England for her wedding. Kim & Hmeant met in Scotland while working together and so the “saat samundar par” story began.

We’d a discussed a lot about the wedding via phone & emails but we could only meet one day before their wedding. And we hit of right away. I was now looking forward to having fun and document their 3 day wedding. The sangeet was a mix of hindi songs, dances, Scottish folk dances & kim’s friends playing violin and the guitar. Incredible! She is one of the few brides who has jumped up at the thought of climbing slides, stairs on a swing set in a play area where their sangeet was held, dance on a Scottish folk tune .. all while wearing a Saree! Hats off to her πŸ™‚ Really.

The wedding day began with their getting ready pictures and some couple portraits before the ceremony. The wedding ceremony itself was a breeze and so much fun. Everyone was having fun. I could see Kim’s brother waiting for the moment he could twist Heman’t ear and warn him to take care of his sister. It was truly a happy day . The Mangalashtaka were in the evening. There was a Military band playing Scottish folk tunes which was a surprise for Kim. Everyone danced during the Baraat..especially Kim’s cousins who just didn’t want to stop πŸ™‚ ItΒ  was followed by Mangalashtaka. Where these two exchanged garlands .. up in the air πŸ˜€

Three days with these two and their families have given wonderful memories. Making new friends forever, sharing our stories and getting to document it. What more could I ask for. Thank you Kim & Hemant for everything.
